Our Kiteboarding School

Welcome to Dellis Cay Kiteboarding Weather Page! Whether you're a seasoned kiteboarder or a newbie eager to catch your first wave, knowing the weather and understanding different conditions is crucial. Kiteboarding relies heavily on wind and weather conditions, so here's what you need to know to ensure a safe and fun experience.

Wind Conditions

The wind is your engine when you're on a kiteboard. At Dellis Cay Kiteboarding, we monitor wind conditions meticulously to give you the most exciting and safe kiting experience.

Ideal Wind Speed

Generally, a steady wind speed of 15-25 mph (24-40 km/h) is ideal for kiteboarding.

Wind Direction

Cross-shore and side-onshore winds are preferred for safe launching and landing.

Wind Variability

Watch for sudden gusts or drops in wind speed, which can impact your ride.

Weather Forecast

Before hitting the water, check the weather forecast to ensure you’re prepared. We provide up-to-date forecasts including temperature, wind speed and direction, and precipitation expectations. Here's what to look for:

Temperature: Comfortable temperatures enhance your experience. Ensure you dress accordingly, as temperatures can shift.

Precipitation: Rain, lightning, or hail are dangerous when kiteboarding. Please avoid riding during these conditions.

Tides

Understanding tides can significantly impact your kiteboarding session. High and low tides affect wave conditions, and certain local spots may be better during specific tides.

High Tide: Might produce smaller waves and make beach launching trickier.

Low Tide: Can reveal sandbanks and other obstacles.

At Dellis Cay Kiteboarding, your safety is our priority. We strive to provide a safe and exhilarating kiteboarding experience. By staying informed about the weather, you enhance your safety and get the most out of your time on the water. Here are some safety measures:
